About the Image Flipper

The Image Flipper runs entirely in your browser. Flip horizontal mirrors the image left-to-right (a y-axis reflection), while Flip vertical mirrors it top-to-bottom (an x-axis reflection). The flip is implemented with ctx.scale(-1, 1) for horizontal and ctx.scale(1, -1) for vertical, followed by a redraw at the correct offset. Successive flips compound — flipping horizontally twice returns the image to its original orientation. Nothing is uploaded; all processing is local.

How to use it

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between horizontal and vertical flip? Horizontal mirrors left-to-right (like looking in a mirror), vertical mirrors top-to-bottom (like a reflection in water).

Can I flip multiple times? Yes. Each flip works on the current canvas, so successive flips compound. Two identical flips cancel out.

What is the output format? The download is a PNG file, preserving detail without compression artifacts.

Does this tool upload my images? No. All processing happens locally in your browser.
